Here’s our version of heel with a few turns and spins. We don’t have a mega-tight heel (to be honest, it was just what was needed to pass the test to be able to compete in Spain) but I think it’s enough for us. Anyway, we had fun, and after this we played hide-and-seek (and of course, Mooli won 😉
June 14, 2022 at 4:52 pm #19042I am sorry. Life served me with some troubles lately… I will give more time at the end to make up for lack of feedback.
So starting routines – i didn’t see how he was outside but already coming in he was a bit low. Not totally disconnected bit not very high in energy either. So we will go one step back – do the outside routine, than run in and start food throws over the first jump immediately, than proceed into hide and seek. After some sessions like this, run in and stop, make classic engagement game, make him “turn you on” with attention. Don’t ask too much, just looking at you is enough at first, get active and reward, than freeze again and wait for attention,…
The heeling game looks good. If you don’t have any ambition to do more precise obedience you can include that into your engagement/hide and seek game from time to time to add diversity.June 15, 2022 at 8:20 am #19043Thank you, Polona. And please don’t be sorry – life happens and it can be tough sometimes. I hope things are going better for you.

June 19, 2022 at 9:08 pm #19057Hi Polona, I know you said that you’ll be extending the course a bit for feedback, but I don’t think I’ll be able to do anything at the agility club for a while. One of our other dogs suddenly lost the use of all his legs a few days ago and has been diagnosed with a neurological condition. He’s an old dog but otherwise healthy and the neurologist and physiotherapist both believe he has a chance of recovering his movement with physical therapy. So all of our energy is going to be focused on him for the next few weeks.
I want to say how much I’ve enjoyed the course 🙂 I love the format and I found your feedback very clear and easy to follow. I learnt a lot and the connection between Mooli and me has definitely improved and that was my key motivation for doing the course. Thanks again for all your help! -
