I started with the U shape sequence as you suggested with a pre placed toy and then calling him back through the other way. I think that went really well I tried a few with crosses but really wanted to focus on getting him really going. Next time I’ll do more crosses.

I tried one with a sit at the beginning. I realized after that was a bad idea.

Then I went to crazy balls from topic 2, doing lefts and rights and then eventually working with 2 wings. I didn’t want to do too many so I just stuck to 2 wings.

I went to just frisbees as a break and easing back into it. I was away on a work trip for the last week so haven’t done anything or even seen the dogs until last night. Frisbees on a windy day was not a great idea.

I raised the jump to 18 inches. I feel like I’m still not doing it right. He gets a stressed when he can’t find the food right away. I used bigger pieces that were heavier so they don’t bounce and didn’t get caught in the wind. I want to do it right but I still don’t think I am

I went back outside. It took a few days because we got a snow storm but it’s mostly melted. It went from +12 to -10 back to +13 since Friday.

I don’t think he’s as fast outside. I’m not sure if it’s not being able to find the food, if it’s me (I’m pretty sure it’s me) or what.

Also I’m wasn’t sure what height to do the jump at so I put it at 12 inches (30cm)

I really tried to pay attention to how I was facing. I think the last little set was the best one.

I tried to keep going in the same line back and forth. I got lost a bit and he got a bit herdy. Watching the video back I think I got a bit carried away with the number in a row I did.

I tried to work in some tricks and some sit stays. Stays for us seem to have a lot of conflict. And Unfortunately I’m usually alone so I can’t do restrain excerises.

This is where I am with teaching Wake a hold/ retrieve. He just had surgery on his foot so every thing else is on hold right now.

I took some more steps with the one step game. I tried to get him to turn with me while doing it. Didn’t go well

Im really struggling with the front sit for the retrieve.

The dumbbell also isn’t going great.

I reread your advice in the last post. Where should I have the treat and train. I have 2, how close should it be to the board?

Elephant/ the one step game- I think this is going well. But he tends to be I think too far back.

Fast comebacks- I think I need some more room but I think it’s going well.

Backing up and hand touches- I’m happy with these. Just working on them a little at a time.

Heel work game- I have no idea what I’m doing with this. Hopefully it’s right.

Front foot target- I’m happy with this but not sure where to go from here.

Elephant- I couldn’t find my bin I use for this. But I’m fairly happy with it without. I’ve been trying to put the reward in my armpit. I think it’s helping

One step game- I tried the one step game for the first time today. I moved forward, back and to the right.

Position changes- I’m happy with his stand and down but the sit I can’t get him to keep his front feet still. I’ve tried with a platform and I can’t seem to figure out how to get him to stay there.

Front feet/ fast comebacks- I’ve been going back to him to reward and I think it’s helping. I’ve been releasing him between my legs. I’ve also worked on just the fast comebacks on their own.

Hand target- I think it’s getting better! The right hand is much better than the left but I’m still plugging away at it

Backing up- it’s getting better still a work in progress

Elephant/ get back- I think it’s going well but I don’t feel confident about it.

Around me/ cones- I’m pretty happy with this. His left turns aren’t as good because I’ve only just taught them. I don’t think there is anything Wrong with him. He just needs more help to the left than right.

Where do I go from here? Or do I stay here? I’be watched the second set of videos but I don’t want to move on if you don’t think I should yet

Hand target- I’ve been working on what you said and I think it’s been helping.

Backup- I think he’s doing great!

Front feet target- I think he’s doing well with this. Where do I go from here?

Pivoting/ get back- when I thought he looked like he was straight in the mirror he looks crooked in the camera and when he’s straight in the camera he looks crooked in the mirror. I’m going with the mirror because it was right I. Front of me and the camera was a little off to the side.

Around me/ cones- he’s much better wrapping with his right shoulder than he is with his left.

I haven’t tried that yet. I’m not totally sure what you mean.

I also want to tell you how much I love your classes. They are so helpful!!

Next time I won’t wear a black shirt and pants with my black dog! You can’t see him well!! Sorry about that.

Elephant- should I be rewarding him in front or off to his left? The mirror was super helpful. I know one of those reps he wasn’t straight and I was just hoping he looked more straight in the video that he did in the mirror.

Front feet target- I think he’s doing better with the reward to reset being straight. There ha been less pivoting.

Back up- I originally started to shape the back up with him rear foot targeting to something so I’m glad to hear I’m not far off what I was doing. It needs more work. He always seems to fade a little to the right. In the future I think I’ll back him along a wall or furniture on that side so he can’t drift to the right.

Hand target- I think it’s getting better.
