Hey Polona, thanks for the feedback.

“Cool. Do you notice any general change in her since you started the class? Would you say she is more playful/engaged or easier to engage?”

Yeah I do – I think she is a bit more focused on me – I notice it on walks/puppy school where she is also more confident and willing to play. In beginner agility class where she runs free and can change her mind to running somewhere else, sniffing or having extra fun on her own I dont know because we stopped for a while since she is still very young to focus on other things like this class and other “normal dog skills”.. 🙂 I also have to use more food games and general playing sessions on walks or somewhere else (not at home garden).

“Overall I thought (after reading the your comment first) that she will have even more difficulties switching. It seems like she reacts pretty well to you sitting down.“
In some videos above I was “chopping grass” with my hands. That usually gets her to me because she has some weird obsession with it. 😅 Sometimes it works sometimes no – is it ok if I do that?
I ordered the same chasing toy she loves the most and tried it out and switching went pretty smooth I think. Sessions from the last time I posted,, also some switching and tugging with different toys went ok i think:

Also now watching videos will go even slower with the “chasing around”. We were playing that inside the house and I was hiding all over the flat and being very “sneaky” and she loved it followed me around, happy growling and smiling. 😃
With food pockets usually she is not so determined to tugg – with other toys she goes harder. Recent video:

      Ball games:

These are some regular tennis… she really loves balls but I dont know somehow we cant manage to make this game work. 😀 she sometimes chases, sometimes not, sometimes picks it up and carries for few seconds than drops, sometimes not, sometimes retrieves. 😅 I think she just “cant forget” about the “original ball” – mostly she chases the new one but than she “remembers” that she left one somewhere. I will try tomorrow not with “crazy” balls but maybe trying with just two somehow..?
“Will she actually snap and put teeth on your skin? Just growling doesn’t bother me at all, I would ignore it, from the videos she didn’t look overly stiff or serious about it, I allow my dogs to be possessive over toys and even encourage it to some degree, I just make sure the rules are clear and fair, so they don’t feel conflicted or bad around it.”
She would growl veryyy seriously, becomes very tight, big eyes, air snaps, snaps to my hand – she didnt go for skin but there were a few times she almost did make contact with skin 😅 Never got it on video though. But she can be very demonic with guarding her stuff – a blanket on a balcony (one time I didnt know – walked past and she air snapped protecting it), bones, some toys, water or basically anything when other dogs approach etc. Not sure how to make the rules “clear and fair”.

Tomorrow we will try out lesson 3 games – with shaping maybe to get her to limp front leg? And luring to go around me or walk parallel like your video. Well see.

      Thank you very much

Polona hey, thank you for your feedback. 🙏

I dont know why all day I have trouble with posting – I post but it doesnt show up on forum. Hope there wont be 7 same messages tomorrow. 😀

Been quiet here but we are playing games almost every day – just running out of time to post. Will post more day by day as it will also be easier for me to adapt and track but anyways…😅 here are some videos of sessions:

Food pocket toy games – usually she doesn’t like to grab and tug too much (maybe because of harder material).

Tugging games, running away/to her, tugging with other toys – here usually the problem is that she picks a toy and I am not convincing enough to let go of her toy and switch and play with mine. I dont have 2 same tugging toys – you think that maybe can make the difference or some other “tips and tricks” ? 😀

Ball games – hard to film this one, but she loves balls and she loves the running – but usually she doesnt pick up the ball at all – runs to it and back to me to another or sometimes doesnt care about the new ball and wants to chase the ball she had in her mouth previously. Also runs away or is biting/enjoying them alone. The balls are “squeaky” and she enjoys the sound very much. Just bought some small dog tennis balls and will try with these too.

I am watching that sessions are short so she doesnt get tired/bored😇Also what is best to do if she is guarding a toy and “snaps/growls” at me when in the “guarding mode”?
