      Hi Polona

Just a short video to ask you if this is what you meant, to build the startline.

As you can see, few spins, tell him stop, at first he chose to lie down then opted for a sit later…..and I build on this?

      Thanks

        Hi Polona,

Please can you let me know, if i am on the right track here for the startling and the FAIL at 59sec when I tried to touch him, which is a problem as you can see…but did I handle it correctly……

          Hi Polona,

Thank you for all your insight above, will definitely work on being a little less sneaky with the startling and opinions out the exercise.

I did these little exercises in a totally new field, hes never been there. I took him out his crate walked around a bit, toilet and put him back in his crate and took him.out after about 15 min to do the tunnel and two jumps….and leter in the day we did it joined together.

            Hi Polona

We got to the field to do some work. I was really impressed that he coped so well. We had little distractions, few handlers walking about…..I’m not sure if I handled the “mistakes” correctly.

I did theses with 7 meters between the jumps.

              <p style=”text-align: left;”>Hi Polona,</p>
Currently we train, about x4 a week at home. Small sequence stuff, tunnel x2 jumps maybe weaves, we have just finished 12 poles and literally 5 is min. X1 at the field slightly longer 5 jumps weaves tunnel. At the field will start with a toy and then change to food when needed. Home we train with food.

Currently working on SS and DW.

I have sent in two different exercises, one at home one at the field. I have kept in the part at the field when he clearly had a im not playing with the toy moment…and if I had done a second session I would have enough out food.

Question, Does he need to learn to tug, tugging at home in the house is no problem when hes happy. Will do simple tricks for tug reward. Have included x2 food toys i am tthinking probably the lotus ball, as he seams to tug on random things, dish cloth, piece of leather, old sock.

He is usually a maniac at home, he barks spins runs around, never settles, dart after the other dogs, can listen to simple instructions. So because he is brainiac in work we do those exercises, correct?

And why do you prefer i do them.out of the gardenm

                Hi Polona

Greece 18 months old kelpie, imported, he was rather scared on arrival, but seamed to settle into life. When I started the usual agility training I started to pick up little challenges, tugs but not out side in the garden, tugs until any stress factor at training field. Then I move to food. Doesnt like to be restrained.  So I tried to put together a video to show the variances I get from Greece.

Hi Polona, nearly didn’t recognise you running at AWC, your hair is so dark now! great to watch you as always.

Kenya, is definitely slowly growing in confidence. food throw, although she is still a bit reluctant to get it off the ground, she is moving in the right direction. RUN RUN RUN is no problem for her in back garden with dogs as you can see – so i was puzzled that she struggled to do with the wing/cone. I didnt use RUN RUN command, as that is the DW command.

hi Polona, so we carry on with tugging – with the longer line she wants to bite “UP” the line and not the toy. so i tried to hold it lower, she is getting a much better grip with every session we are doing, i do also try different toys, some days its the fluffy some the plain ones, balls still the best.

hand pushes are getting harder and longer, very happy with these. and you can see the ball throwing is her fun time, i kept it short as you said.

                      Hi Polona
So the tugging has been going well inside the house….so we moved outside, first attempt she was a little hesitant, but I continued with happy and praise for small attempt. When she is unsure you see she goes around the garden, around 45 sec. The next taped session, was woohoo much improved, in the back garden, she was more excited even when she ran off she came straight back to play, played with both toys too. Much harder bites and longer tugging. I even got to hold her chest, which I could not have done in first session.

                        Hi Polona
I think she likes the ball lesson way more!! Limited space to work with but much better reaction than food. Jumping up is getting better a d I added slight push and she still can I to jump. Hand pushes are much stronger on a morning session and she even pushes my hands now for attention

She is loving balls…faster in second session. And tugging, she prefers more up than on floor. we just did a little and I think maybe she thought I would play with other dogs!!!

                          Morning
We did a little play with, tug wrapped around her food pouch, she is definitely more interested although now biting in and actively tugging…but wagging her bum and a little more enthusiastic, but is did forget to feed her from the ground. I just held her chest with ventle pressure, also with the hand pushing we are getting harder pushes. I attempted the food throw again, on the path….She didn’t want the food off the ground (I will work on that) which was also better

                            Hi Polona
We are progressing, slowly but definitely seeing little more attention on the food in hand game. And at one point she gives a really good pushy nose for the food. Jumping into me she is also improving…happier to put her feet on my legs and come in closer. I tried food in the bag…mixed results, she is chasing it but very soft to grab the bag, but I did get her offering STUFF and one really good grab at the bag….

THANK YOU POLONA – will work with your suggestions over next few sessions.

pushing between legs – yes she quiet forceful, the herding/circle thing she does comes before she starts to shut down…will try get it on video.

                              have a great day.

                                Hi Polona,
noted on the inside floor and jumps, she is trying to go between my legs, I taught her this to get her to come into me as she is inclined to circle around me, she does this before she shuts down – and i tried to get her to “force my hand open” she go a little nosier! I moved the throw to outside, not a huge distance but i feel she showed improvement on that exercise? what she didn’t like was the casing the food (tried beef knee, turkey wing, chicken necks, so good food!!)

                                  Hi Polona,
so we are off to a slow methodical start…Kenya is not good with jumping into onto me, she seems to be bit stiffy, but again I think second session with me on the floor she seem to do it a bit more interactive with me, just in general.
